Our Values
About
Founder: Tom LiCalzi
From a young age, I was drawn to building—whether landscapes, homes, or businesses. At 14, I started a landscaping company, and by 19, I leveraged that experience to flip houses. My passion for creating led me to study construction management at the University of Cincinnati, where I had professors who didn’t just teach, they challenged me to think critically. That was my first transformation spark, realizing that real learning isn’t memorization; it’s about perspective shifts that drive impact.
Early in my career, I worked for a general contractor that shrank from 18 employees to just 3, forcing me to take on everything from accounting to project management. The owner gave me a choice: gain five years of experience in five years or push myself to gain ten year of experience in five years. I chose the latter which my second transformation spark, embracing challenges and learning at an accelerated pace.
After a decade in construction and launching several small businesses, I was recruited by Gold Star to lead the complete remodel of all franchise locations. This was more than construction, it was about trust, branding, and problem-solving. It was here that I committed to deep personal development, realizing that leadership isn’t just about expertise or age or even a title; it’s about continual growth and learning.
At Answers In Genesis, I led operations for two major attractions, overseeing 650 team members and welcoming 1.5 million visitors annually. Here, I saw firsthand how communication, momentum, and prioritization drive success. The greatest challenge in this role? Urgent tasks always try to distract from what’s truly important.
Now, at Intentional Focus, I help high-performing leaders and organizations break through growth barriers, regain clarity, and take intentional action. Too often, businesses get stuck and my work is about uncovering the real friction points, not just the symptoms, and helping leaders develop the mental clarity and focus to move forward with confidence.
